FIRST RANKINGS OF 2015 ARE OUT!

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the first rankings of 2015 on the 6th. The men's team came in at No. 52 after finishing last year at No. 55. To get to the NCAA tournament, their ranking will need to improve to about No. 40 so they have some work to do. The women's team was ranked at No. 12. I was hoping for a top ten spot but this year's women's team competiton is very close and they could easilty jump up in the top ten once the season gets underway.
In the men's singles, freshman Piotr Lomacki was ranked at No. 56. He had a few wins over some ranked players during the fall season so this was no surprise. He will continue to climb this season. He was the only player to be ranked in the singles or doubles rankings from the men's team.
The women had a great showing in the rankings where FIVE players made it into the singles rankings: Stephanie Wagner (No. 7), Sinead Lohan (No. 39), Wendy Zhang (No. 58), Clementina Riobueno (No. 88) and Lina Lileikite (94). In the doubles rankings, they had three ranked teams; Lileikite/Wagner (No. 8), Riobueno/Albuquerque (No. 15) and Lohan/Zhang (No. 37). What's great about this is that of these players, only Riobueno and Lileikite are seniors. This team si going to do amazing things in the very near future.

WELCOME TO THE MIAMI HURRICANES TENNIS FAN SITE!

This site is to follow and support the Miami Hurricanes tennis teams and follow college tennis in general through the tennis season. The Hurricanes men’s team has a storied career. They have finished as runner-up in the NCAA Championships twice, they have a NCAA-record 137 dual match winning streak that may never be broken, they have 43 NCAA appearances and several college singles and doubles champions. The Hurricanes women have finished as runner-up in the NCAA tournament as recently as 2006 and won their first ACC Championship in 2013. The men look to bounce back up the rankings after a few sub-par seasons, and the women will be trying to break into the Final Four of the NCAA Championships after finishing in the Elite Eight for five consecutive years. This site will also follow Former Hurricanes on the pro tour. Go Canes and Go U!
